Targa Shield

$400.00

Bucklers come in all shapes, styles, and levels of finish and embellishment. The “targa” shield is a fairly unique example, with a brief time of use in the 16th century, even being used in the fencing master Achille Marozzo’s fencing manuscript “Opera Nova”. There are a few surviving examples, all of which have a few common traits, such as the trapezoidle/square shape and wave, as well as the handle with a place for your thumbs to go for extra control.

The shape of this example has been based off a museum piece, but left very simple, and made to be bullet proof.

Specifications:

Height: 365mm

Width Top: 355mm

Width Bottom: 255mm

Depth: 40mm to bottom of handle

Thickness: 1.6mm
